Farewell Midreshet 5775
Our last shabbos at Midmo was one for the books. Every shabbos led up to this one, even though throughout the year we tried not to acknowledge the fact that there will be a last shabbos at all. It was filled with laughs and tears and the little butterflies filling up our stomachs as we watched our last Friday night come to a finish. We ate every meal b’simcha and with song, as many of our beloved teachers sat with us. We ate every bite of food served (the kedusha kugels) and we learned and sat with our teachers and friends. We played guessing games and our own Midreshet Moriah taboo led by our incredible madrichot. At the end of shabbos we sat in the beis, our home for the past year, singing shabbos goodbye. Looking around we saw all the incredible relationships we have built and the incredible bonds we have forged. This shabbos, this year, is one for the books.
This past Sunday night we had our Midreshet Banquet. It was bittersweet as we looked back and reflected on our year and said goodbye to our nearest and dearest. Our very own Ruthie Gershinsky was so kind as to host us at her lovely home in Katamon, which provided a panoramic view of the holy city of Jerusalem. The night was kicked off with delicious Chinese food, catered by Fagie from the Gush Gourmet. We then proceeded with speeches of gratitude for each and every teacher on the Midreshet staff, delivered by specific students. We heard from Rav Eitan and had a musical performance from Rav Shvat. Michal Alge spoke as our class representative, reflecting on our jam packed year and providing insightful words of Torah. The last speech was given by none other than our beloved Rabbi Berglas. As usual, he delivered a beautiful Dvar Torah and shared some kind words with us all. The final program of the night was the madrichot video. Our amazing madrichot compiled pictures and videos and created a fantastic short, documenting all of our fun activities this year. It truly was a night to remember.
A huge thank you to every single person who helped make this night and our entire year at Midreshet absolutely unforgettable!
