Midreshet Goes Pink

Hey Midreshet family! We had yet another amazing week here at Midreshet. We kick started our week with an amazing Tu b’Shvat seder. The entire seminary came together in the Beis to learn about Tu b’Shvat and celebrate it in a new way. We were very privileged to have our very own Rav Shavt help us celebrate this beautiful Chag. He taught us Hebrew songs about the Chag and shared with us his own personal stories and insights on the holiday. He told us of his own personal connection to Tu b’Shvat and how he made Aliah in the month of Shvat. We ate some of the Sheva Minim; grape juice, crackers (wheat), dates, figs, olives and pomegranate seeds. It was such a lovely experience to celebrate Tu b’Shvat with the whole of Midreshet both students and staff members.

On Monday a Shanna Bet meeting took place in classroom 3. Leora, the head of Shanna Bet brought cookies and gave us information what's to come if we decided to stay another year (because we just can't imagine ever leaving!)

On Wednesday we celebrated Sharsheret Pink Day, a day where we joined with thousands of other students all around the world to raise awareness about breast cancer. We wore pink all day long all around Israel. We each tried to do one more act of Chessed to make a difference in someone else's life. Many of us handed out thank you notes with Hershey kisses to those people who work hard each day and whose hard work is sometimes overlooked and not appreciated. We came back to school and wrote on a huge poster how Midreshet Moriah makes a difference and decorated pink cupcakes! It was a packed week here at Midreshet Moriah filled with Torah learning and going out to practice all we have learned!

Shabbat Shalom!
